Band Instrumentalist

CHC has a long history of excellence in leading our congregation in Worship. This is not a prideful statement but it indicates our desire to offer our best in the service of our Savior.
At CHC there are numerous venues that utilize bands for Worship.Examples would be our Sanctuary Sunday Band and Wednesday night band; Youth band at Horn Lake High School; Café 56 band at the Warehouse; etc.Each band has it's own practice time and location.Some bands require a high level of competence while others require an average level of proficiency for those who have a desire to play but have a commitment to improve their capability. | |

Auditions are required for all band members.
All band members must attend the BASES introduction to CHC along with the Magnification Ministry Base, which contains more information specifically about the Worship Ministry.
A high level of instrument proficiency is required. However, those who don't have a high level of proficiency, but wish to be a part of the Worship Ministry should contact the Instrumental Director to determine how they can get involved at a different level.
Band members must be committed to attending rehearsals, practicing individually, and being on time for rehearsals.

CREATIVE ARTS-Drama

At CHC, we believe in using drama to reach out to people in a fresh and creative way. We also believe that drama can play a valuable role in the lives of believers at Colonial Hills. The people who are involved in our drama ministry attend CHC on a regular basis. They feel gifted and called by God to use their gifts to serve our congregation through drama. Drama team members act primarily at the weekend services, but also may perform at Midweek services or other special events. |

Attending Midweek and Weekend Services for 6 months
to a year, and running “The Bases”.
* Strong acting skill / potential.
*Ability to commit time to rehearsals, and training, as well as to perform when called upon.
*Auditions are required for involvement on the drama team. The audition process begins with an open audition that occurs once a year. For the first audition, participants do not need to prepare material. They will participate in drama games and improvisational scenarios that will serve to assess dramatic ability and communication skills. Following the audition, participants may be invited back to a callback audition. The whole audition process for the drama ministry may take several months.

CREATIVE Arts-Programing

The forth Monday
of the month |
Artists and those with the gift of creative communication are needed to participate in a programming "think tank" that will brainstorm ideas for Mid-Week and Weekend services. Please join us on the forth Monday of every month from 6:60 to 8:00 p.m. in the Starting Point Room, it will be fun to think out-of-the box together. |
Programming Teams creatively utilize the arts in planning and implementing weekend services, Mid-Week Services, CHC conferences and special events. Those who serve in this ministry humbly use their artistic abilities and passion for the arts to teach, touch, and transform lives. Instrumentalists, vocalists, actors, dancers, writers, and behind-the-scenes people share their time and talents

The people who are involved in our visual arts ministry attend CHC on a regular basis. They feel gifted and called by God to use their gifts to serve our congregation through visual arts. Visual arts team members act primarily at the weekend services, but also may perform at Midweek services or other special events. |

*Ability to commit to deadlines consistent to having art ready for the required event.
*There are openings on all serving teams--Video, background screens, pros, lighting, hanging, props, and stage construction.

(Six to Eight volunteers are needed per service.)

TECHNICAL ARTS -STAGING TEAM
|

The stage team provides ministry to all involved in a volunteered service or event. The team meets on a regular basis for project nights where we divide into task groups to accomplish a variety of projects, working together in community. The projects are always different. The opportunities to gain knowledge and learn new skills are abundant with the Staging Team. |

Attending Midweek and Weekend Services for 6 months
to a year, and running “The Bases”.
Setup teams: Set up stage for services. Volunteers follow stage plan and set up drama, staging, and band for the service. In addition, run cables, plug in microphones, and help with stage décor.
Tear down
Tear down Teams: Take down all staging and props after Weekend and Midweek services. This involves wrapping cable, storing equipment and returning drama and / or message props.
Stage Design (Hang Time): Creatively use different materials such as fabric, metal and plastic to design the "look" for the main stage services.
Additional Team Members: Help support the services through assigned duties by the stage manager. These duties may include: moving props, handing up mics, monitors, podium or working backstage with wireless mics or cueing the band and vocalists.

The mission of this ministry is to use our gifts and passions to serve the Lord and the CHC congregation. We work to provide excellent video production and aid in drawing the congregation into worship and biblical teaching.

Camera Operator: Operate one of the cameras in our multiple services.
AD: Assist the Director during the services
Shader: Adjust the camera video levels so all cameras
look the same
C.G.: Put worship songs and graphics on the screen
T.D.: Operate the switcher during the services
Director: Overseeing and giving direction during the
services.
